Getting Things Done

Lately it has all been about getting things done at work: my social/personal life is in pieces.

Not any more.

The website life hacker gives tips on how to get things done and still get a life.

Things I want to do more next year
1. Blog more
2. Go back to fiction
3. Watch more useful TV / listen to radio
4. Watch more theatre productions
5. Continue to read fiction
6. Read Arts and Letters Daily daily
7. Stop picking up work phone calls after work hours/putting in 60hr work week.
8. Achieve significant improvement in the contact center business.
9. Get more pay.
11. Swim.

Another Casualty

Two days ago, I was passing the area where a friend of mine R supervises when he stopped me and said, “Let’s have coffee.” I pointed over to the conference room where I was to have a nice geeky session with the phone engineer. “Later?” he said.
“Can’t. The chainsaw consultant is messing about with our KPIs. She’s calling another blamestorming. Oh,” I said, remembering something I heard. I leant forward to whisper, “The omens are bad.”
All of a sudden his eyes were red.
I took his arm. “We have coffee after this.”

The news is bad. The fears are founded. He would not be here long.
